Basic Cytology Wet-Lab – Cytology is key to good dermatological practice. It is a rapid, non-invasive and cheap patient-side test that quickly gives you useful data to help make a diagnosis. The results can confirm whether an infection is present, identify the most likely organisms, confirm a diagnosis in immune-mediated and neoplastic skin conditions, and/or narrow the differential diagnosis allowing you to quickly chose the most appropriate tests and/or treatment for each case. This wet-lab is aimed at clinicians that are new to cytology – using interactive slides and discussion, you will be shown which techniques to use and how to interpret slides covering the most common findings in infectious and inflammatory skin diseases.
